Company Summary

Awake Labs is a mental health startup building technology to help people with cognitive disabilities manage stress and improve quality of life. The platform includes a smartwatch, mobile app, and web dashboard that provide real-time, objective stress data for self-advocates and their caregivers.

My Responsibilities

As Product Designer (UX/UI) at Awake Labs, I handled UX/UI design, user research, website redesign, graphic design, and digital marketing. Key contributions included:

Developing user personas
Designing the mobile app onboarding flow from ideation to high-fidelity mockups and user testing
Redesigning the website (www.awakelabs.com) with a focus on the support section (www.awakelabs.com/support)
Creating marketing materials such as social media posts and custom graphics following brand guidelines

Highlight of My Projects at Awake Labs

User Personas Development and Mobile App Onboarding Flow

With company expansion, Awake Labs needed to simplify onboarding so hundreds of users could get started without requiring hours of staff time for technical and customer support. Previously, there were no onboarding screens for the mobile app, and all onboarding happened through meetings and phone calls.

Working closely with the CEO and CPO, I developed multiple user personas to guide product development. Using these personas, I designed the onboarding flow for Awake Labs’ mobile app tailored to self-advocates and caregivers.

Website Redesign

Using WordPress, I redesigned the company’s website to enhance user flow and visual appeal. My primary focus was on the main page and support material to streamline the company’s onboarding process. Please visit the links above to explore the redesign.

Learned Lessons

My time at Awake Labs taught me valuable lessons about working in a small startup environment. Key takeaways include:
